This was inspired by the “100 ornithopters” cube for Magic: The Gathering. It can be found here: https://cubecobra.com/cube/about/100-ornithopters?view=primer
The only units in the cube are Porgs, exactly 100 copies of them. The core idea is that every single game will be decided based on porgs, so there is no other unit and no way to create tokens. The non-porg cards in the cube are all ways to buff your porgs or remove your opponents porgs.
The way you have to evaluate your cards in this format is entirely different than what you are used to in a regular limited format. Resilliant can let you 4-for-1 opponents, Foresight can be really consistent without too much setup, and Traitorous can steal any threat your opponent could present. Leaders present the same change in mindset, JTL Asajj and SOR Palpatine will almost always be able to 1-for-1 your opponent's porgs, but Darth Revan can let you run away with the game as long as you are able to get past the first hurdle of getting a porg to survive attacking another porg. Two cards in the cube (Confidence in Victory and Restock) represent an alternate way to win games that I am not 100% sure if I want to exist, but I am going to be trying them out for now. Confidence in Victory is especially interesting since your opponent can never have any space units, but it will be hard to get up to 10 resources when your opponent will stop resourcing way before you.
In order to ensure leader's wont be stealing the glory and to make this format work, each player has a custom base that has no aspects, 20 hp, and the text "Ignore the aspect penalty on cards you play. You cannot deploy your leader."
I would like to get this cube to 360 cards + 24 leaders, but at this point in the game's life there are not enough cards that fit my requirements. I am going to be leaving it at 240 cards and have each player play with every card they draft.
Each porg will be marked and labelled 1 through 100. This will be done by physically drawing on the cards and writing a number after the word Porg in the card's name. When you win a game, you will put a tally mark on the porg to keep track of how many people have been defeated by this specific porg. If you go 3-0, you take any non-altered porg that you drafted and alter the card however you'd like. Draw on it, sign it, do whatever you want to it.
Eventually, every porg in the cube will be able to tell its own story. Some porgs will be cold blooded killers, some will get their first kill after a long time of standing by peacefully.
